Description:
St. Francis Family celebrated 150 Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Nation with great fervor. The program began with the lighting of lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. It was followed by a meaningful prayer service in the form of Inter religious prayer meeting. As Gandhiji said, “The need of the moment is not one religion but mutual respect and tolerance of different religious”. It was proved by Franciscans reading and interpreting a verse each from the Bible, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad-Gita, Jain & Buddhist sources. To uphold the values & teaching of Gandhiji students presented a thought provoking skit, highlighting the need of the hour to make India free from the evils like untouchability, communal violence, and intolerance etc. to make his dream come true based on the ideals of the equality, fraternity, truth & non-violence.
The choir group presented Gandhi ji’s favorite bahajan ‘Vaishnav… & Raghupati… on their melodious voice. Showing their love for Bapu enthusiastic dance drama was performed in beautiful and dignified manners by the students of primary classes. Students enthusiastically participated in a Quiz Competition based on important events of Gnadhi Ji;s life and Swachhat Abhiyan followed by Nation Pledge taken by all the students & teachers.

The day was celebrated with zeal and vigour and the students were motivated to practice the values given by Gandhi Ji in their day to day life.
