Description: Annual Day forms an integral part of a school calendar. It is an occasion of celebration, feast and festivity when students put up an entertaining show for all. St. Francis’ School , Wazirpura, Agra celebrated its 62nd Annual Day on Friday, November 30, 2018 with much fervor and zeal. The grand occasion was made splendid not only with the remarkable performances by students but also by the presence of dignified and worthy guests. The Annual Day 2018 was woven around the theme St. Francis - Manavata ke Samvahak - Shanti Praneta . We were blessed and honoured to have Most Rev. Dr. Albert D’Souza, the Archbishop of Agra who presided over the function. Mr. Love Kumar, DIG, Agra range graced the occasion by being the Chief Guest. The function commenced with a prayer dance invoking the Almighty God for his benevolence and mercy. Thereafter, the lamp of knowledge and wisdom was ceremonially lit by Rev.Archbishop,Rev. Sr. Gemma the manager,Rev. Sr. Abha the principal,Rev.Sr. Sherin the vice-principal and Priyanshi Chimnani the head girl. The school choir put up a soulful rendition of welcome notes in their melodious voice. Foot-tapping and vibrant dance numbers were presented by the young cherubs which left the audience enthralled and mesmerized. Reverend Principal Sr. Abha extended a very cordial welcome to all the dignitaries present. She read out the preamble of school’s achievements, the school report. Her ministerial board read out the highlights of academics, co-curricular, areas of special focus, sports and various in-service training sessions and workshops. Most Rev. Dr. Albert D’Souza, the Archbishop of Agra, was in all praise for the entire programme. He appreciated the efforts put forth by the students and the gradual upgradation in the presentation each year. He emphasized on the inculcation of moral values towards building a peaceful and harmonious society. In today’s world when universal ideals of peace, respect, tolerance, forgiveness, love for fellow beings, co-existence and non-violence are disintegrating; God is our ultimate refuge who can direct us towards virtuous and righteous path. The play St. Francis - Manavata ke Samvahak - Shanti Praneta unfolded the treasured values of the ‘glorified soul’ of our Patron St. Francis. The Chief Guest was superlative in his appreciation of students, teachers and management for a classic and meaningful play. He stated that he felt highly honoured and elated to have visited the school. He congratulated the school for taking such as edifying theme which requires moral actions on everybody’s part. The programme culminated with the National Anthem. The entire show held the audience in awe and left them enlightened. All departed with a smile and pleasant memories of a noteworthy evening spent in the school campus.
